Back In Business......The Final

Here it is folks ! It was a couple of text issues that needed to be corrected. Over and above that its pretty much the same as below. None the less its the "official" finished product.

Post comments, let me know what you think ! thanks

CWR Covers

So it looks like CWR will indeed be using a Vibe Fx design for the cover of the "Back in Business" DVD. That's very cool and makes me happy that I can get some work out there.

As you can see in the previous post its a not bad looking cover, the second version of it took a lot less time then my original design. It had been quite some time since I had logged some time on photo shop.

Canadian Wrestling Revolution

One of my interests (as noted in my profile) is indie wrestling. The small local shows run just about anywhere. I went to one recently in Toronto and LOVED IT !

I contacted them after asking if perhaps they need some help with DVD covers, posters, t-shirts, etc. They were indeed interested so I sent off some work.

These are the covers I sent them.

Another J-Pro DVD cover

As I mentioned in a huge fan of Josh "J-Pro "Prohibition, he is perhaps one of the best wrestling talents you have never heard of.

I was going to compile a best of DVD using some of his matches that I had on DVD. I decided, like I do most times I would do a custom cover for this project.

Here is the cover .......... enjoy

Wrestling Creations

I'm a wrestling fan, yes I'm 31 and I enjoy it ! But not WWE or TNA I like local Indy shows.

When I can I try to help out by creating alternate DVD covers, posters, promotional material, t-shirt designs, etc.

Here are some of the works I have on hand (at work) that I can show right now.

Ill try to tell you a little about the work, then post the image.

UWA hardcore wrestling puts on shows here in the Toronto area about once a month. I look forward to going to see them, they bring in the best workers from both the US & Canada.

Its a great tradition for me and the boys to go catch these shows once a month.

Since going to the UWA Josh Prohibition has become one of my favorite performers. His mic work is second to none, and his in ring work can back up what comes out of his mouth !

I created my own "best of Josh Prohibition" DVD and here is the cover ! enjoy

Chris Hero is perhaps one of the best US Indy workers out there, and one of the busiest.

I purchased one of his "best of" DVDs and decided to give it the custom treatment.

Also shown is a 8 x 10 promo work I created using some TNA wrestling promotional photos.

UWA puts on some great shows, "Darkest Hour" from 4.27.7 stands out to me as one of them shows. The main event had me in awe..... I remember when the photos of the show were uploaded to created my own DVD cover and sent it to UWA. It was never used, by I did print out a copy for myself. At the time of the creation I didn't know the name of the show, so I named it myself. Anyway here are 3 variations of the concept I developed.

Enjoy, and please post comments. Id love to know what you think.

thanks, Mike Boss

A little about what I do ...

I have a few blogs here on blog spot, each about something different.
One is about a project I'm undertaking and the creating of a MAME arcade machine.
The other is about my new venture into fatherhood.........I'm the proud papa of a new puppy.
(side note : she rocks !)

Here I thought Id attempt to showcase some of my design work. I went to school for a design fundamentals course & at the time had several projects on the go. When the course was completed I opted to not continue my education. In retrospect I wish I kept going to school, I think I would have a better skill set, more knowledge (obvious), a better network of resources, etc.

I've managed to do OK all in all, but design has become something I do for fun not so much money anymore.
